Job Title: Fortinet Engineer - Software Upgrades & Hardware Migrations

Location: Primarily Remote (1 day per week onsite at Docklands office)

Start Date: ASAP (Backfill role - budget approved)

Duration: Until December 2025, with strong expectation of extension into 2026

Work Pattern: Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm (some tasks may require out-of-hours work)

Day Rate: Up to £480

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Fortinet Engineer to manage software upgrades and hardware migrations across our Fortinet environment. The successful candidate will have hands-on experience with Fortinet products and FortiManager, ensuring smooth, secure, and timely upgrades and migrations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and execute Fortinet software upgrades and hardware migrations.
• Work closely with stakeholders to minimise service disruption during upgrades and migrations.
• Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations and changes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve Fortinet-related issues during and post-upgrade/migration.
• Collaborate with other network and security teams to ensure alignment with broader infrastructure initiatives.

Required Experience:

• Proven experience with Fortinet hardware and software upgrades.
• Hands-on experience with FortiManager.
• Solid understanding of network infrastructure, including routing and switching.
• Experience with out-of-hours maintenance tasks and planning.

Desirable/Bonus Skills:

• Fortinet certifications (NSE 4 or higher)
• Cisco ACI experience
• F5 load balancer experience
• Strong knowledge of BGP, OSPF, and Multicast
• Experience in large-scale network migrations or upgrades
