Overview
The Office of the Official Secretary to the Governor-General (OOSGG) is seeking an experienced and highly capable Project Manager to lead the transition of ICT services from an internal delivery model to a shared services arrangement with the Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS). This role requires a strong background in ICT project management, financial oversight, stakeholder engagement, and delivery of complex public sector ICT initiatives.
The successful candidate will provide technical leadership, strategic advice, and day-to-day management of the in-house ICT team (currently four full-time staff), while ensuring continuity of services, value for money, and successful delivery of the transition program.
ICT Strategy & Transition
- Develop and implement a comprehensive ICT strategy aligned to OOSGG’s business objectives.
- Lead the transition of ICT services to DPS, ensuring continuity, cost-effectiveness, and fit-for-purpose solutions.
- Provide expert advice to OOSGG executives and stakeholders throughout the transition.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with senior business leaders to identify and deliver ICT needs.
- Build and maintain productive relationships across OOSGG and DPS.
- Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, providing guidance on ICT matters.
Operational Oversight
- Manage and support the ICT operations team, including staff supervision, budget management, and resource allocation.
- Ensure ICT systems’ security, reliability, and compliance with relevant government standards.
- Develop and enforce risk management strategies to safeguard sensitive information.

The ideal candidate will have:
- Significant public sector ICT project management experience.
- A track record of delivering ICT transformation or shared services initiatives.
- Strong financial management and contract negotiation skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Leadership experience managing ICT teams in a complex environment.
