The Planning Policy team is delivering substantial reform and legislative changes in compressed timeframes across multiple strategic priorities.We need an experienced project management professional to serve as our strategic coordination hub, enabling seamless delivery across portfolios while optimising our systems and processes to set us up for continued success.

Working with the leadership team, you will synthesise complex information and design systems that enhance team effectiveness and increase leadership capacity to focus on strategy development and reform delivery.This role offers significant autonomy to design innovative coordination approaches and process improvements enabling our team to deliver government objectives. You will have a key role supporting major reforms by facilitating communication across diverse stakeholder networks and direct management of working groups.

  • Proactively coordinate project planning and delivery of division work program through effective status reporting and scheduling, risk management, stakeholder engagement and communication, budget oversight and evaluation techniques. Achieve efficiencies while also reducing the team's administrative burden.
  • Ensure project outcomes are achieved, and project management capability is enhanced, by working collaboratively alongside a multidisciplinary team within a complex environment with competing priorities.
  • Establish and maintain review mechanisms to effectively monitor the progress and outcomes of projects and partnership activities and prepare high quality, timely reports for executive oversight of progress.
  • Implement and embed policy, processes, systems and internal controls to support the coordination and delivery of projects which endure long-term and sets the team up for success as priorities shift over time.
  • Ensure effective communication, integration, coordination and liaison occurs within the Division, across the department and with other external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate a high-level ability to use nuanced communication through interpersonal and negotiation skills to influence decisions and achieve outcomes. Other responsibilities (as required)
