Location: Vienna (Hybrid) | Start: January 1, 2026 | Full-time

We are a Vienna-based LegalTech startup with a clear mission: developing a platform to detect, analyze, and combat online hate. By combining cutting-edge AI with legal expertise, we protect victims and hold perpetrators accountable.

Starting January 1, 2026 – subject to a pending funding approval – we are building our founding tech team. This is your chance to join from the ground up, shape our platform, and contribute to a product with real social impact.


Open Positions:


Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

Responsibilities:

  • Define and oversee our technical architecture (SaaS, APIs, ML pipelines, scrapers)
  • Build and mentor a 4–5 person engineering team
  • Hands-on contribution in critical phases (prototyping, code reviews, scaling)
  • Align technology with business and investor goals


Your Profile:

  • 7+ years in software development, 3+ years in a leadership role (CTO/Tech Lead/Head of Engineering)
  • Strong background in cloud-native systems, security, and scalable SaaS architectures
  • Experience with modern stacks (React/Next.js, Python, Docker/Kubernetes, REST APIs)
  • Proven ability to scale teams and systems in a startup or high-growth environment


Full-stack Developer

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain frontend (React/Next.js) and backend (Python, REST APIs)
  • Implement secure role-based dashboards and authentication flows
  • Collaborate closely with CTO, ML engineers, and designers
  • Contribute to architecture decisions and agile processes


Your Profile:

  • 3–5 years of experience as a fullstack developer
  • Proficiency in React/Next.js and Python frameworks (FastAPI/Django/Flask)
  • Solid knowledge of databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB) and CI/CD pipelines
  • Familiarity with Docker/Kubernetes and GDPR-compliant systems


Machine Learning Specialist (NLP)

Responsibilities:

  • Collect, preprocess, and annotate multilingual text datasets (focus on German & English)
  • Train and deploy hate speech classification models with robustness and fairness in mind
  • Ensure bias detection, fairness evaluation, and explainability (e.g., SHAP, LIME)
  • Integrate ML services into real-time production pipelines
  • Collaborate with backend and frontend teams to bring ML into user-facing products


Your Profile:

  • 3–5 years of experience in ML/NLP (industry or research)
  • Strong programming skills in Python and frameworks such as PyTorch/TensorFlow
  • Experience with HuggingFace Transformers and ML Ops tools (MLflow, DVC, Kubeflow)
  • Background in data engineering workflows (SQL/NoSQL, ETL pipelines, versioning)
  • Understanding of bias, fairness, and explainability in applied AI systems
  • Experience deploying ML models into scalable architectures (Docker, Kubernetes, REST APIs)


Data Engineer

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain scalable data pipelines for ML training and production
  • Manage annotation, storage, and versioning of large datasets
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance with privacy regulations
  • Work closely with ML and backend teams to provide reliable data infrastructure


Your Profile:

  • 3+ years of experience as a data engineer or in a similar role
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL, plus experience with NoSQL databases
  • Strong knowledge of ETL pipelines, data warehousing, and workflow orchestration
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data storage and GDPR-compliant handling of sensitive data
  • Experience supporting ML workflows and large-scale data processing


UX/UI Designer

Responsibilities:

  • Design intuitive, role-based user interfaces for users, lawyers, and admins
  • Create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes for dashboards and analytics tools
  • Develop and maintain a consistent design system
  • Conduct user research and usability testing to validate designs


Your Profile:

  • 3+ years of experience in UX/UI design for SaaS or platform products
  • Strong portfolio showcasing complex interfaces and dashboards
  • Proficiency in design tools (Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD)
  • Understanding of accessibility standards and responsive design
  • Experience collaborating with product managers and developers in agile teams


Security Engineer

Responsibilities:

  • Implement secure authentication, authorization, and RBAC systems
  • Ensure GDPR compliance, audit logging, and monitoring
  • Identify, prevent, and respond to security threats and vulnerabilities
  • Establish and enforce security best practices across the platform


Your Profile:

  • 3–5 years of experience as a security engineer or in a similar role
  • Strong knowledge of authentication frameworks (OAuth, SAML, OpenID Connect)
  • Experience with threat modeling, penetration testing, and vulnerability management
  • Familiarity with ISO 27001 and GDPR compliance requirements
  • Hands-on experience securing SaaS applications and cloud-native environments
