Junior Interest Rate Trader | Global Hedge Fund | Helsinki

We are working with an elite global hedge fund who are looking to add a junior Interest Rate RV Trader to the team they are building out in Finland. They are looking for a top tier candidate with with an excellent academic background, strong communication skills, and comfortable working alongside senior Portfolio Managers. Previous Interest Rates experience is not required, and the fund in question are open to top tier candidates from a broader financial services background (Investment Banking, Corporate Finance, Private Equity etc.) This is a rare opportunity to join a leading hedge fund in Finland. They will also consider candidates looking to relocate to Finland.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain quantitative models to enhance trading strategies, by analysing and evaluating iterations and identifying areas to improve.
• Collaborate with quant and technology teams to improve trading processes
• Assist across the entire investment life cycle, including execution and risk management
• Monitor market trends, economic indicators, and central bank policies to identify trading opportunities
• Work closely with senior traders to analyze risk exposures and optimize portfolios

Requirements:

• Top tier Education – ideally a PhD or MSc from a globally renowned University in a highly quantitative subject (Maths, Stats, Physics, Computer Science etc., with a high GPA.
• Experience working at at a top tier hedge fund, investment bank, or financial institution
• Python programming skills
• Strong communication skills both in person and in writing (fluent in Finnish and English)
