Role Overview

The Group Commercial team are seeking to onboard a motivated and detail-oriented Data Analyst - Commercial Insights to join our Commercial Analytics and Data Insights team. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for data storytelling, dashboard development and commercial performance. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting strategic decision-making by delivering actionable insights through Power BI dashboard reporting, working closely with stakeholders across the Group.

Key Responsibilities

As Applegreen expands, the responsibilities will evolve and change over time. The core responsibilities will centre around the following areas:

• Develop, maintain, and optimise interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI to support commercial decision-making.
• Deliver commercial insights and reporting at a group level, ensuring alignment across all regions.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather requirements, understand business needs, and translate them into actionable data solutions.
• Assist in the development of automated reporting processes.
• Contribute to ad-hoc analysis and deep dives to uncover trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Support the cross-functional taskforce focused on aligning KPIs across regions, contributing to consistency and comparability of commercial performance metrics.
• Ensure data governance and compliance with internal standards.
  
  

The Candidate Should Have The Following

Qualifications, experience & skills

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a data analyst role, ideally within the retail and/or FMCG industry.
• Strong proficiency in Power BI and its components (e.g. DAX, Power Query) essential.
• Experience working with large datasets and data modelling.
• Knowledge of SQL, or Python is a plus.
• Ability to translate business requirements into effective data visualisations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.
• Commercially minded individual, with a strong understanding of how data and insights drive business performance and decision-making.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to present insights to non-technical audience.
• Curious mindset with a proactive approach to learning and improvement.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
• Proven track record of delivering to tight deadlines and strong ownership of tasks.
