Head of Acquiring

Genome is everything users need from the traditional banks, but safer, faster and completely online.

We are a Lithuanian-based Electronic Money Institution licensed by the Bank of Lithuania.

Genome is a B2B/B2C EU-oriented company, which offers personal, business, and merchant account opening, payment processing, money exchange, internal, SEPA, and SWIFT transfers, as well as other banking operations completely online. Clients can manage all their funds and accounts within our smart dashboard, which is in a desktop version, or through an app on Android and iOS.

Genome is looking for a Head of Acquiring !

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

• define and execute the company’s acquiring strategy to support growth and market expansion (Card, OpenBanking, APMs and etc.) ;
• build and lead the Acquiring team, ensuring operational excellence and high performance;
• act as the main point of contact with acquiring banks, PSPs, card schemes, and regulators;
• represent the company in external negotiations, audits, and industry forums.
  
  

Partnership & Relationship Management

• establish and expand acquiring partnerships to optimize coverage, approval rates, and cost efficiency;
• negotiate commercial terms and contracts with partners, ensuring favorable conditions for the business;
• monitor market trends, competitor offerings and regulatory developments.
  
  

Product Ownership

• own the acquiring product roadmap, aligning it with business goals and customer needs;
• define product strategy for merchant onboarding, transaction processing, reconciliation, reporting, and fraud prevention;
• collaborate with Tech, Risk, Compliance, and Product teams to design and deliver acquiring features;
• ensure product compliance with PSD2, PCI DSS, AML/CFT, GDPR and card scheme rules.
  
  

Operational Excellence

• oversee daily acquiring operations, including settlements, reconciliations, and dispute management;
• define KPIs and drive performance improvements across transaction flows, chargebacks, and fraud prevention;
• ensure scalability and resilience of acquiring systems and processes.
  
  

Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related field;
• 7+ years of experience in acquiring, merchant services, or payments, with at least 3 years in a leadership role;
• proven experience managing acquiring relationships and delivering e-merchant business solutions;
• deep undesrstanding of card schemes, payment processing flows, risk management, and compliance requirements;
• strong background in product management and business development of acquiring/payment products;
• excellent negotiation, stakeholder management, and leadership skills;
• analytical mindset with experience using data/BI tools;
• fluency in English, additional languages are a plus.

Compensation

Salary : €5,000 - €6,600 gross monthly* .

• Final compensation will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, skills, and previous experience
