Purpose of the Role
The Senior Planning Engineer will play a key role in supporting the Development team across pre- and post-contract phases of real estate projects. The role involves managing planning activities with consultants and contractors, reviewing and approving baseline and recovery programmes, monitoring progress, assessing risks, and advising senior management on scheduling strategies and extension of time (EOT) claims.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of experience in planning, scheduling, and monitoring large-scale construction projects, preferably in master community and residential developments.
- Proven experience in coordinating with multidisciplinary internal teams, consultants, and contractors.
Key Responsibilities
- Planning & Reporting: Establish progress tracking systems, monitor project performance, and issue bi-weekly and monthly reports/dashboards highlighting KPIs, risks, and mitigation measures.
- Programme Management: Review, evaluate, and approve baseline and recovery programmes; conduct workshops with consultants/contractors to validate sequencing and milestones.
- EOT & Claims: Analyse critical paths, assess delays, and guide consultants in preparing EOT responses, delay notifications, and mitigation strategies.
- Procurement Tracking: Maintain and update procurement trackers, coordinate package issuance with design and commercial teams, and ensure timely tendering and awards.
- Consultant Oversight: Manage and guide consultant planners, ensuring compliance with KPIs and timely delivery of planning outputs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Advanced certification and expertise in Primavera P6.
Skills
- Strong expertise in Primavera P6 and project control tools.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and Power BI.
- Excellent analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of project lifecycles, EOT management, and industry standards.
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
