The Role

We’re looking for a Back-End Developer to join the Subscriptions Team, which manages the entire customer lifecycle, from anonymous readers to paying subscribers.

You’ll help build scalable solutions for:

• Registration, authentication, and subscription flows
• Paywalls, order pages, and corporate agreements
• Subscriber self-service tools (My Page, Privacy Dashboard, Company portals)

What You’ll Work On

• Back-end development in Java (Spring Boot, reactive frameworks such as Project Reactor)
• Microservices architecture, deployed in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Containers & orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes
• Asynchronous systems with RabbitMQ and Kafka
• Databases: PostgreSQL, Redis, MongoDB, ElasticSearch
• Contributing to DevOps & CI/CD pipelines (GitLab)
• Exposure to other languages where relevant: Kotlin, Python, Go

What We’re Looking For

• 3+ years’ professional experience with Java development
• Strong background in Spring Boot (reactive frameworks a plus)
• Experience with microservices & cloud platforms
• Familiarity with message queues / streaming solutions
• Interest in DevOps, CI/CD, and modern engineering practices
• Fluent in English (Norwegian is a plus but not required)
