Job Title: PHP Developer

Job Summary:

Designs and develops complex, data-driven enterprise web applications. Has strong understanding of software development and APIs.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Maintain Applications: Design, develop, and maintain web applications and backend services using PHP and related technologies. Ensure code quality, scalability, and performance.
  • Collaborate with Team: Work closely with other developers, designers, and other stakeholders to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
  • Database Management: Create and optimize SQL queries and work with databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL, or similar. Ensure data integrity and implement effective data storage solutions.
  • Code Review and Testing: Participate in code reviews, and debug and resolve issues as they arise. Follow best practices for version control and documentation.
  • Performance Optimization: Identify performance bottlenecks and apply optimizations to improve application speed and efficiency.
  • Technical Documentation: Document code, processes, and architecture to ensure that the development process is well-documented and maintainable.
  • Stay Updated: Keep up to date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to PHP and web development.


Education and Experience:

  • Experience: 2-3 years of professional experience as a PHP developer or similar role.
  • Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in PHP, with a solid understanding of frontend technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Experience with popular PHP frameworks such as Laravel, Symfony, or CodeIgniter is a plus.
  • Database Knowledge: Experience with relational databases like MySQL or PostgreSQL, including writing complex queries and optimizing database performance.
  • Version Control: Proficiency in version control systems, particularly Git.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Communication: Good communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical teams.
  • Education: A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Experience with APIs and web services.
  • Familiarity with front-end frameworks or libraries such as Vue.js, React, or Angular.


Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
  • Communicate with coworkers, third-party providers and vendors.
  • Must be able to adhere to standard operating procedures.
  • Typical office environment.
