The European Union Delegation to Ukraine is looking for a:
Press and Information Assistant in the Political, Press and Information Section.
We are
The European Union (EU) is an economic and political partnership between 27 European countries. It plays an important role in international affairs through diplomacy, trade, development aid and working with global organizations. Abroad, the EU is represented through more than 140 diplomatic representations, known also as EU Delegations, which have a similar function to those of an embassy.
The EU Delegation to Ukraine works in close coordination with the Embassies and Consulates of the 27 EU Member States. We are a fully-fledged diplomatic mission and represent the European Union in dealings with the Ukrainian government in areas that are part of the EU’s remit.
We offer
The post of a Press and Information Assistant (Local Agent Group II) in the Delegation’s Political, Press and Information Section reporting to the Head of Political, Press and Information Section. The Political, Press and Information team in the Delegation is to comprise around 17 staff in total. The Press and Information team consists of 6 people and there are occasional atypical working hours. Under this post, the recruited person will be attributed functions depending on the needs of the Delegation, and on the changes of these needs. The successful candidate will serve under the supervision and responsibility of the Head of Political, Press and Information Section, to support communication tasks and activities and be part of the Delegation’s overall Communication team.
The Following Main Tasks And Duties Are Currently Required
PROJECT MANAGEMENT
- Coordination/implementation of Press and communication projects
- Assist in the management of projects, including both operational and financial aspects
- Elaboration of Technical and Tender Specifications
- Other projects - as needed
- Content Creation & Adaptation
- Draft and publish social media content (texts, visuals, videos, infographics) for platforms including X (Twitter), Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and others.
- Tailor messaging for different audiences and platforms while respecting the EU’s visual identity and editorial guidelines.
- Contribute to the production of multimedia content, including short videos or stories.
- Platform Management
- Ensure timely and accurate publication of content across platforms.
- Maintain up-to-date profile information, highlights, and links.
- Community Management
- Monitor and moderate comments, mentions, and messages on all platforms.
- Monitoring, Analytics & Reporting
- Track and analyse performance metrics (e.g. reach, engagement, follower growth).
- Produce regular reports with actionable insights for communication planning.
- Monitor online discourse relevant to EU priorities and local context.
- Contribute to the management of the Delegation web-site, keeping it up-to-date
- Uploading ad hoc content (Delegation’s tenders and vacancies on the Delegation web-site) and sending out press materials - When needed
Control And Management Of P&I Procurement Processes
- Drafting of Tender Specifications on digital-related projects
- Preparation of Tender dossiers (Invitation letters, Technical Specifications, Tender Specifications, Draft contracts/Purchase Orders). Registration of contractors
- Preparation of budget estimates and overseeing financial consumption of contracts related to digital services
- Preparation of budget commitments
- Implement all other tasks requested by the Head of Section, as well as back up to colleagues on leave.
The expected start date will be November 2025.
Minimum requirements / eligibility criteria (necessary for the application to be considered)
- University education in communication, journalism, political science, international relations with at least bachelor degree;
- Job-Related experience: at least two years of experience in the area of digital communication, social media or similar - after obtaining the minimum required diploma
- Knowledge:
- Good understanding of communication related issues
- Good understanding of management institutional or organisational social media accounts;
- Good organisational and drafting skills;
- Understanding of procurement, project management and coordination issues
- Ukrainian: C 2 level (Listening, Reading, Spoken interaction, Spoken production, Writing);
- English: C 2 level (Listening, Reading, Spoken interaction, Spoken production, Writing);
- Knowledge of IT tools: strong computer skills and knowledge of IT tools;
- Right to residence and work in Ukraine;
- Medical fitness to carry out the tasks assigned.
- Knowledge of EU external action and public diplomacy.
- Knowledge of French.
- Familiarity with social media analytics tools (e.g., Meta Business Suite, Twitter Analytics, Hootsuite, Sprout Social).
- Basic photo/video editing skills (e.g., Canva, Adobe Express, CapCut, Premiere Rush).
- Motivated, enthusiastic team-player, able to efficiently prioritise tasks and respect deadlines; good communication skills; strong self-organisation skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a multicultural environment.

The process
After the deadline for applications, the eligible applications will be admitted to the Selection by the Committee set up for this purpose.
