Full-stack Developer (Mid-level) | Go, C and Cloud
Location: Sydney or Melbourne, Australia
Type: Full-time | Permanent
Company: Software Integrators Pty Ltd
About Us
Software Integrators (SI) has been at the forefront of custom software development for the transport and logistics sector for nearly four decades. From courier management platforms and route optimisation engines to compliance tooling and last-mile tracking systems, we deliver robust, scalable, and cloud-native solutions to enterprise clients in Australia, the UK, and beyond.
About the Role
We are looking for a mid-level full-stack developer with strong experience in Go and exposure to other modern programming languages. In this role, you will develop and maintain services and applications used by major logistics operators, courier platforms, and transport coordination systems.
You’ll primarily work across backend components, supporting core APIs, system integrations, and user-facing features. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a distributed engineering environment, enjoys variety across projects, and can adapt to working with different technologies as needed. Alongside core software development, exposure to frontend technologies and frameworks is a plus, as well as system administration and scripting skills to support environments, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to automation and infrastructure improvements. This is a blended role for someone who enjoys working across applications, systems, and integrations.
What you'll be doing:
- Build and maintain Go-based APIs and microservices powering real-time logistics workflows.
- Develop across Java, C, and related back-end services, contributing to scalable enterprise-grade systems.
- Contribute to front-end features where required, with exposure to .NET and Angular considered an advantage.
- Write scripting and automation tools (e.g., Bash, Python, or PowerShell) to streamline workflows.
- Support basic system administration tasks such as user management, process monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Assist with networking and connectivity issues, including DNS, VPNs, and firewall configurations.
- Ensure systems are compliant with security and operational standards.
- Collaborate across time zones with a global delivery team (AU, UK, SEA).
- Participate in Agile delivery ceremonies, sprint reviews, and team retrospectives.
Must-have Qualifications:
- 2–4 years’ experience in Golang and/or C development.
- Working knowledge of other development languages such as Java and .NET.
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, or PowerShell).
- Familiarity with networking concepts (DNS, VPNs, firewalls, routing basics).
- Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, integration design, and common back-end patterns.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work across backend and frontend contexts.
- Comfortable working in travel, transport, logistics, or mobility-related platforms.
- Strong communication skills and ability to contribute to distributed teams.
Nice-to-have Qualifications:
- Experience with .NET or Angular in a production environment.
- Exposure to event-driven systems (e.g., Kafka, Azure Service Bus).
- Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and containerisation tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with secure coding standards, API authentication, and compliance-driven environments.
- Experience with mapping, geospatial services, or driver companion applications.
Why join us?
- Deliver high-impact software powering real-world logistics operations.
- Join a globally distributed team with 24/7 delivery capability.
- Be part of a stable, industry-specialist business with deep sector knowledge.
- Work on both legacy transitions and greenfield full-stack initiatives.
