Machine Learning Engineer

Job Opportunity: Machine Learning Engineer – Speech & Text AI – Freelance – Brussels – Hybrid

G2 are working with one of our clients on a freelance Machine Learning Engineer role to collaborate on the development of state-of-the-art AI pipelines focused on real-world speech and text data. You’ll play a key role in building scalable systems powered by large language models (LLMs), contributing to impactful applications in speech processing, natural language understanding, and automated data classification.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement data pipelines for speech and text pre-processing (e.g., noise reduction, tokenisation, feature engineering)
• Develop and optimise machine learning models for tasks such as classification, sequence modeling, and anomaly detection
• Integrate speech-to-text systems and enhance time series analysis of transcribed speech data
• Leverage LLMs and deep learning architectures to develop high-performance, production-ready models
• Collaborate with researchers, data engineers, and product teams to bring models into production (e.g., via cloud deployment)

Requirements:

• Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field
• Proven experience in NLP, speech processing, or time series data
• Hands-on skills with tools and frameworks such as Python, PyTorch, Whisper, C++, SQL, Docker, Git
• Strong understanding of model evaluation, feature engineering, and ML lifecycle
• Familiarity with LangChain, LangGraph, Azure, or similar ecosystems is a strong plus

Contract length: 12 months

Rate: €90 p/h
