We are seeking a Head of the Technical Support Section to lead BALTDEFCOL’s IT function, ensuring secure, reliable, and forward-looking digital services. In this role, you will drive digital transformation, oversee infrastructure and assets, enforce cybersecurity standards, and harness emerging technologies to support our education, research, and administration goals.

LOCATION: Tartu, Estonia
SALARY: 30 000-42 000 EUR per annum (gross)
CONTRACT: Indefinite duration, full-time
MAIN DUTIES
- Lead the Technical Support Section, ensuring strategic development, innovation, and alignment with BALTDEFCOL’s digital transformation goals.
- Deliver secure, reliable IT services and manage infrastructure lifecycle—including servers, endpoints, and AV systems—to support education, research, and administration.
- Develop and enforce IT strategies, regulations, and standards for hardware, software, networks, and cybersecurity compliance.
- Oversee procurement, deployment, and inventory of IT and AV assets, ensuring legal use and budget adherence.
- Integrate emerging technologies (e.g., AI, automation) to enhance service delivery, helpdesk performance, and institutional innovation.
- Represent the section in cross-departmental projects, provide onboarding support, and contribute to planning and documentation.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Academic degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- Minimum five years of professional IT experience, including team leadership and digital transformation.
- Language: English (Proficient User: C1+ or comparable profile).
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
- Certifications in IT service management (e.g., ITIL), cloud technologies (e.g., Azure, AWS), or cybersecurity.
- Experience in multinational, military, or academic environments.
