The EIB, the European Union's bank, is seeking to recruit for its EIB Global Directorate – International Partners Department – Latin America and Caribbean - Public Sector Division, at its headquarters in Luxembourg: TRAINEE
Duration: 6 months (fixed start date: 1st September/October 2025)
(With possible extension up to 12 months)
Please note that the Programme is created under the Financial Inclusion Fund (FIF) and is open to young nationals from one of the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) Region (Algeria, Egypt, Palestine, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco and Tunisia) and ACP (Africa, Caribbean and Pacific) Region, all 79 ACP Partner Countries (please see Provisions section).
Please note that you are requested to limit your applications to a maximum of three traineeship publications. We will only consider and retain the first three applications submitted.
Objective of the traineeship
The objective of the traineeship is to conduct a market research of the investment needs of Latin American and Caribbean countries. Analysis will include national multi-annual investment plans of LAC countries and main municipalities and identification of priority investments that could fit into Global Gateway eligibilities.
Responsibilities
Under the supervision of a loan officer, your main responsibilities will be:
- Conduct a market research based on publicly available information and internal EIB information.
- Draft and present internally a report based on pre-agreed structure.
- Compile and maintain information related to the availability and the list of product options.
- Create a set of thematic presentation templates.
- Final year of studies or University degree of a MENA/ACP partner country that includes Economics and/or business related field; Educational background in business would be appreciated.
- Demonstrable interest in the region and climate action would be an advantage.
- Previous work experience/traineeship is also considered an advantage.
- Good to advanced knowledge of MS Office software, in particular Word and Excel.
- Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English. Knowledge of Spanish and/or Portuguese will be an asset.
