Acting as a trusted advisor, the SBA ensures that complex business requirements are translated into scalable, practical, and technically feasible solutions. This role is both client-facing and hands-on, combining strong business analysis methodology with a deep understanding of financial services operations and enabling technologies.
The SBA engages directly with clients in the fund services, depositary, ManCo, and AIFM sectors to understand their business operations and challenges. They translate these into actionable specifications for internal product, development, and delivery teams, ensuring solutions meet both business and regulatory requirements.
Here's the rundown of what you'll be owning:
- Lead client workshops, discovery sessions, and design discussions to capture business requirements, processes, and pain points.
- Translate client requirements into functional and technical specifications, ensuring clarity and scalability.
- Collaborate with Solution Engineers, DevOps, Production Support, and Quality Engineering to design solutions leveraging ETL, APIs, NiFi, CIB Seven, FusionExport (data model, processes, dashboards)
- Map, challenge, and optimise client processes to improve efficiency, transparency, and regulatory compliance.
- Support pre-sales and business development by preparing tailored demos, technical deep dives, and solution walk-throughs.
- Provide structured documentation, including process models, user stories, acceptance criteria, and business rules.
- Balance client-specific needs with Governance.com’s standard data and process model.
- Act as a subject matter expert for industry practices in fund management, depositary, and ManCo operations.
- Support testing, validation, and user adoption activities, ensuring smooth implementation and transition.
- Contribute to the evolution of the product by identifying trends, opportunities for standardisation, and emerging client needs.
Here's the scoop on what we're looking for in your skillset:
- 7+ years of experience in business analysis, professional services, or solution delivery roles within SaaS, fintech, or financial services environments.
- Strong understanding of asset management operations (fund services, depositary, ManCos, AIFMs).
- Good understanding of project management methodologies.
- Proven track record in leading client-facing workshops and translating business requirements into solution designs.
- Experience with data integration (ETL, APIs, NiFi), reporting tools (FusionExport, dashboards), and process automation (Camunda, CIB7).
- Structured thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent communicator, able to explain technical concepts in business-friendly language and facilitate cross-functional workshops and client sessions.
- Adaptable, curious, and comfortable in fast-paced, iterative delivery environments.
- Collaborative team player who can balance competing priorities and stakeholder needs.
- Proficiency with collaboration and delivery tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, MS Teams).
- Experience working with Agile delivery methodologies.
- Familiarity with data analytics tools (e.g., Power BI), automation, and orchestration platforms.
- Hands-on experience with Python and large language models (LLMs) for data transformation, automation, and client-facing prototypes is a plus.
