Job Mission:

We are seeking an experienced Network Specialist/Infrastructure Lead to oversee and enhance Piab's global infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in Azure, Palo Alto Networks, Extreme Switches, Server management, and comprehensive network monitoring and network security knowledge. Additionally, they should demonstrate a proactive approach to problem-solving and optimisation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Network Infrastructure Management: Plan and execute strategies to maintain and expand our network for optimal performance and dependability. Conduct a configuration and architectural audit, then create a plan with observations and recommendations to fine-tune the environment globally.
• Server Management: Oversee projects related to server installation, upkeep, and troubleshooting, ensuring operations are secure and efficient.
• Configuration Management: Implement and manage configuration management processes for servers, firewalls, and switches to ensure consistency and compliance.
• Security and Connectivity: Administer network security measures, manage server connections, and oversee internet domains. Implement the capabilities of security recommendations from the Cyber Security Officer.
• Performance Analysis: Perform routine tests and evaluate network performance, making strategic modifications as needed.
• Issue Resolution: Proactively resolve complex network issues, suggest system upgrades, and evaluate new technologies for potential integration.
• Technology Research: Keep updated on new technologies in network infrastructure and security, evaluating their relevance to our strategic goals.
• Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Utilise Azure Monitor, Network Watcher, and Log Analytics for global network monitoring.
• Cost Management: Monitor and optimise global infrastructure costs, including networking and server expenses.
• Vendor Management: Manage relationships with vendors and third-party service providers to ensure seamless operations.
• Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity: Plan and implement strategies to ensure business continuity and disaster recovery in your domain area.
• Resilience and Contingency Planning: Develop and maintain resilience and contingency plans to ensure network robustness and quick recovery from disruptions.

Preferred Competencies:

• At least 10 years of experience in network infrastructure leadership, with a strong emphasis on network & server management.
• Extensive experience in managing large-scale global infrastructure and Azure networking.
• Expertise in configuring and managing network devices such as switches and routers.
• Proficiency in deploying and maintaining Palo Alto firewall technologies.
• Strong understanding of network security protocols and intrusion prevention systems.
• Experience with network automation tools and scripting (e.g., Python, Ansible).

Experience and Education:

• Master’s degree in Network Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Professional or Expert level in any Enterprise Infrastructure Certification.
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305 and AZ-104).
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate (AZ-700).
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104).
• Bonus: Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE).

Bonus Knowledge:

• Infrastructure consultant experience for Zero Trust network implementation projects.
• Experience with onboarding Zscaler solutions, including branch connectors, ZIA, and ZPA.
• Extreme switch configurations; creating global standards templates.

• Strong documentation skills for global network diagrams and configuration records.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with global teams.
• Proactive approach to network security, network optimisation, and global infrastructure management.
• Leadership and team management skills to guide cross-functional teams.
