The Role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Junior Full Stack Developer to join our growing technical team. In this role, you’ll play a crucial part in designing, developing, and maintaining full stack web applications for high-impact government modernization initiatives. You’ll work closely with clients, product owners, and other developers to deliver robust, scalable, and secure solutions.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Application Development: Design and develop high-quality, scalable full stack applications using modern frameworks and tools.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including product owners, UX/UI designers, and other developers to deliver end-to-end solutions.
- Client Engagement: Participate in technical discussions with clients, providing expertise and guidance as needed.
- Code Quality: Write clean, maintainable, and testable code while participating in code reviews, testing, and CI/CD practices.
- Agile Delivery: Contribute to sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog grooming in an Agile environment.
- Documentation & Maintenance: Maintain system documentation and support ongoing application improvements and bug fixes.
What You Bring to the Table
- Experience: 2 years of experience as a Full Stack Developer, Software Engineer, or related role.
- Languages & Frameworks: Experience in both front-end and back-end development. Experience with Java (Spring Boot), JavaScript/TypeScript, React, and Node.js.
- Front-End Technologies: Experience with modern UI frameworks such as React, Vue.js, Bootstrap, or similar.
- Back-End Expertise: Experience with building RESTful APIs, microservices, and backend logic using Java (Spring Boot preferred).
- Cloud & DevOps: Familiarity with AWS, Azure, GCP, DevOps, containerization (e.g., Docker), and CI/CD pipelines.
- Tooling: Familiarity with Git, GitLab, Azure DevOps, Jira, and modern development environments.
- Databases: Familiarity with SQL and No SQL databases
- Clearance: Holding, or being eligible to obtain, a Government of Canada Secret security clearance.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to work collaboratively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Nice to Have:
- Experience in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and machine learning technologies
- Exposure to infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation)
- Experience in a government or public sector context
