Job Title: Frontend Developer (ReactJS)

Location: Halifax, NS (Permanent remote work accepted from anywhere in Canada — preference for candidates in EST or CST time zones)

Frontend Developer with strong experience in ReactJS to lead the migration of existing Angular applications to React. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a modernization initiative within a collaborative Agile team. The ideal candidate has a solid foundation in both Angular and React, deep knowledge of modern JavaScript/TypeScript, and a passion for building scalable, maintainable web applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze existing Angular (2+) applications and identify components to migrate.
• Refactor and rebuild UI components in React using best practices and performance optimization techniques.
• Maintain feature parity and visual consistency during migration.
• Collaborate with UI/UX designers, back-end developers, and stakeholders to deliver seamless, accessible, and responsive interfaces.
• Write clean, maintainable code using React, TypeScript, and state management tools like Redux or Context API.
• Perform unit and integration testing using Jest, React Testing Library, etc.
• Ensure API integration using tools like Axios or native Fetch.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, code reviews, and ongoing process improvement.

Required Qualifications:

• 8+ years of front-end development experience with JavaScript/TypeScript.
• 3+ years working with Angular (2+), including RxJS and component-based design.
• 4+ years of hands-on React development experience (functional components, hooks, state management).
• 2+ years of experience migrating applications from Angular to React.
• Experience integrating RESTful APIs and handling asynchronous data.
• Proven knowledge of responsive design, cross-browser compatibility, and performance tuning.
• Solid testing experience with Jest, React Testing Library, or similar tools.
• Expertise in HTML5, CSS3, SCSS, and modern front-end development practices.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience using TypeScript in both Angular and React projects.
• Familiarity with component libraries like Material UI, Ant Design, or Bootstrap.
• Knowledge of build tools such as Webpack, Vite, etc.
• Experience with Git, GitHub, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Background in large-scale refactoring or modernization projects.
