Role Overview

The Product Owner will support the development and execution of product initiatives for our cryptocurrency trading platform. Working closely with the Senior Product Manager, Product Manager and cross-functional teams, this role will assist in managing the product lifecycle, from gathering user feedback and conducting market research to supporting the launch of new features. The Product Owner will focus on ensuring the platform meets the evolving needs of users while staying competitive in the cryptocurrency market.

In this position, you will collaborate with engineering, quality assurance, design, compliance, operations, and marketing teams to help deliver features that improve user experience and drive growth. The ideal candidate has some background in product or project management or a related field, excellent communication skills, and an analytical mindset. Responsibilities and Duties

The responsibilities and expectations for the Product Owner are outlined below:

Support Product Development

• Assist in the development and execution of the product roadmap, working closely with the Senior Product Manager.
• Help coordinate the launch of new product features by supporting communication and collaboration across teams.
• Ensure product features align with business objectives and user needs.
• Developing comprehensive project documentation to ensure smooth handover of deliverables to teams.

Cross-functional Collaboration

• Collaborate with engineering, design, compliance, and marketing teams to support the development and delivery of product features.
• Assist in organizing team meetings, documenting progress, and following up on action items to keep projects on track.
• Help ensure that product updates are communicated effectively across departments.

Data Collection and Analysis

• Collect and analyze user feedback, market trends, and product performance metrics to provide insights to the product team.
• Use data to support decision-making for product enhancements and optimizations.
• Assist in creating reports and presentations to communicate findings to stakeholders.

Market Research and Competitive Analysis

• Conduct market research to stay informed about cryptocurrency industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging technologies.
• Assist in identifying opportunities for new product features and improvements based on market data and user behaviour.

Qualifications and Skills

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Computer Science, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent work experience) preferred. 

Experience

• 1+ year of experience in product ownership, management, marketing, business analysis, project coordination, project management or a related field (internship or relevant coursework is also acceptable).
• Exposure to cryptocurrency, fintech, or blockchain technology is a strong plus, but not required. 

Analytical and Technical Skills

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, interpret, and report on data to support product decisions.
• Exceptional ability to understand and learn high level technical concepts including how a software platform is built and functions.
• Ability to provide a user’s perspective during feature delivery.
• Familiarity with basic data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Google Analytics) and an eagerness to learn more advanced tools.
• Basic understanding of cryptocurrency and blockchain technology or a willingness to learn.
• Have a “quality first” mindset towards feature delivery to ensure high delivery standards.
• Proficiency with JIRA or similar workflow ticketing processes is preferred.
• Possesses in-depth knowledge of the feature delivery lifecycle from end to end, or a capacity to learn.

Communication and Teamwork 

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work across teams and contribute to a cohesive product development process.

Interpersonal Skills

• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Detail-oriented, with the ability to track progress on product initiatives and ensure deadlines are met.
• Eagerness to learn and stay updated on cryptocurrency market trends, product management best practices, and new technologies.

Security / Background Check

• The candidate must submit and pass a criminal background check and must hold the highest standards when dealing with sensitive data.

Salary and Benefits

• Salary Range: The yearly salary range for this position is $60K CAD to $80K CAD, based on experience and qualifications.
