This is a hybrid role based in Edmonton, Alberta.
What You’ll Do
- Manage and maintain network infrastructure (switches, routers, firewalls, SD-WAN, VPNs, SASE, IPAM).
- Oversee cloud and on-premises environments (Azure, AWS, M365, Windows/Linux servers, Hyper-V).
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and support enterprise systems, ensuring reliability and high performance.
- Implement and maintain cybersecurity controls, monitoring, and incident response strategies.
- Lead upgrades, patching, and capacity planning for network and system infrastructure.
- Provide Tier 2/3 technical support and mentor other IT team members.
- Collaborate with business units, vendors, and partners to deliver secure and efficient IT services.
- Develop and maintain clear documentation for systems, security, and architecture.
- Post-secondary education in IT or Computer Science (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with networks, systems, and cloud environments.
- Strong knowledge of firewalls, switching, routing, wireless, and security frameworks (CASB, SASE, MDR/XDR).
- Skilled in system administration across Windows, Linux, Azure, AWS, and M365.
- Experience with scripting/automation (PowerShell, Python, SQL, YAML).
- Solid troubleshooting, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
- Certifications (Juniper, Cisco, Microsoft, Aruba, or Fortinet) are an asset.
