About the Role

We’re looking for a product engineer with experience building rich, collaborative editors (TipTap/Yjs/ProseMirror) who isn’t afraid to go full stack when needed. You’ll be the person who makes our AI-powered workspace feel magical to end users. As Eddi grows, you’ll also play a key role in setting technical direction and shaping our product’s DNA.

Key Responsibilities

• Spearhead Front-End Development: Own the editor and workspace experience, extending TipTap/ProseMirror/Yjs with custom functionality.
• Flex into Full-Stack: Build and maintain back-end features using Node.js, PostgreSQL, and GCP.
• AI-Powered UX: Integrate LLM-driven suggestions and actions directly into the editing experience.
• Collaboration & Real-Time: Architect and optimize multi-user workflows with rock-solid reliability.
• Customer-First Shipping: Prioritize features that have immediate impact for school districts and iterate quickly.
• Spin Up Internal Tools: Use tools like Retool to quickly build dashboards and internal apps that help our sales team close deals and streamline customer onboarding.
• Shape Engineering Culture: Help set the bar for code quality, architecture, and team collaboration.

What We’re Looking For

• Front-End First, Full-Stack Ready:
• 3+ years of experience building modern web applications.
• Expertise in React + rich-text editing frameworks (TipTap, ProseMirror, Slate, CKEditor, etc.).
• Strong understanding of collaborative editing (Yjs, CRDTs, operational transforms).
• Full-Stack Comfort: Able to work with Node.js, APIs, and relational databases when needed.
• AI-Obsessed: Excited about weaving LLMs and AI copilots directly into user experiences.
• Product-Driven: You design with empathy and know that UX is just as important as tech.
• Startup DNA: Scrappy, resourceful, and ready to own outcomes.
• Collaborative & Candid: Communicates openly.
• Bonus Points: Experience with real-time systems (WebSockets, WebRTC), or building document/collaboration platforms.

Compensation & Benefits

• $90k–$130k salary plus 0.25%–0.5% equity
• 100% employer-covered health insurance for employees
