By joining our project, you will be working on an initiative of the European Commission focused on creating a more efficient, modern and secure customs environment within the European Union. Being part of this initiative set on a 5 years’ timeline, you will have the opportunity to work on topics such as digitalization of customs processes, streamlining customs procedures to facilitate trade and reduce costs, harmonization of customs rules across all EU member states and combating fraud.

What You'll Be Doing
- Designing and maintaining platform architecture that includes middleware technologies such as Oracle WebLogic, IBM WebSphere, ServiceBus, SOA, and Tuxedo.
- Leading the integration and optimization of LAMP stack components (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) for web-based applications.
- Architecting and supporting containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Collaborating with cloud teams to design hybrid and cloud-native solutions using major cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Ensuring platform solutions meet business requirements for performance, scalability, security, and availability.
- Providing technical leadership and guidance to development, operations, and infrastructure teams.
- Establishing platform standards, best practices, and governance models.
- Supporting automation, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code initiatives.
- Documenting architectural decisions, platform configurations, and integration patterns.
- Staying current with emerging technologies and evaluating their potential impact on the platform strategy.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience with middleware platforms such as Oracle WebLogic, IBM WebSphere, ServiceBus, SOA, and Tuxedo.
- Strong knowledge of LAMP stack technologies and their integration in enterprise environments.
- Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Solid understanding of cloud platforms and cloud-native architecture principles.
- Experience in designing and implementing high-availability, resilient, and secure platform solutions.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess complex systems.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work across technical and business teams.
- A proactive, structured, and detail-oriented mindset with a passion for innovation.
- Excellent command of both spoken and written English.
