Job Summary

We are looking for a DevOps Application Support Engineer to provide end-to-end support for business-critical applications in a DevOps/Cloud environment. The role involves monitoring, troubleshooting, automating operational tasks, and collaborating with development and infrastructure teams to ensure high availability, scalability, and performance of applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide L2/L3 application support for production, staging, and development environments.
  • Monitor application performance, availability, and reliability using observability tools.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve incidents, perform root cause analysis (RCA), and provide permanent fixes.
  • Automate repetitive support tasks using scripting and DevOps tools.
  • Collaborate with developers, QA, and operations to ensure smooth deployment and releases.
  • Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines for faster and reliable deployments.
  • Support cloud-hosted applications (AWS/Azure/GCP) including scaling, patching, and upgrades.
  • Maintain proper documentation, runbooks, and knowledge base articles.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and ensure SLA adherence for incident response.
  • Implement best practices for monitoring, logging, and alerting.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong experience in DevOps tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps, or similar).
  • Hands-on experience in Linux/Unix administration and scripting (Shell, Python, PowerShell).
  • Good knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and related services.
  • Familiarity with containers & orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift).
  • Experience with monitoring & logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK stack, Splunk, AppDynamics, Datadog, etc.).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for application, middleware, and database layers.
  • Understanding of networking basics (DNS, Load Balancers, Firewalls, SSL/TLS, etc.).
  • Knowledge of incident, change, and problem management processes (ITIL framework).

Good to Have

  • Exposure to infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation).
  • Knowledge of database administration/support (Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
  • Experience supporting microservices-based applications.
  • Familiarity with service management tools (ServiceNow, Jira, Remedy).
