We are now looking for a

Project manager

to join Aalto university’s Reseach services (Post-award services). In this position you will be responsible for the administration of major externally funded research projects coordinated by Aalto university (post-award services). We wish that the selected person could start as soon as possible. The position is permanent.

Your role and goals

As a project manager your task is to manage the administration of large multipartner research projects coordinated by Aalto University. These international projects represent top-level scientific research and they are of key importance both to the University and the research team. As a project manager you are in charge of the administration of projects from the grant agreement phase to final reporting in cooperation with the PI (Principal Investigator) professor, the project consortium and the financier. You are the link to other services provided by Aalto University during project lifetime.

In addition, training and advicing of the researchers and Aalto service organization is part of your job. If necessary the job include Grant advisor’s tasks.

Your role may also include participating as an expert or project manager in internal projects. For example, a development project related to worktime allocation for research projects is in starting phase.

Your network and team

You are part of Aalto Post-award services team at Research Services and work closely with Pre-award services, Academic legal services, Financial services and other support services within Aalto university.

Your Experience And Ambitions

You have previous experience in the administration of externally funded research projects. Experience as a project manager is considered as an asset.We expect you to have a good knowledge on relevant funding instruments, e.g. Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe.

In order to be successful as a project manager you have the ability to work independently, skills to manage large entities and high level organizational skills. You are able to search knowledge from different sources and to distribute and to interpret funding terms and conditions to academic researchers. Your cooperation, networking and communication skills are excellent. Your way of working is based on problem solving and you are customer oriented.

Excellent skills in English are required while Finnish language proficiency is an asset.
