About the Company
Our client is a leading regional healthcare group, backed by a global private equity firm, with hospitals, clinics, and technology platforms across Singapore, and other SEA countries. Their patient and member apps, along with their proprietary TPA system, power access to care for hundreds of thousands of individuals and corporate members across Southeast Asia.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a Head of Engineering to lead and strengthen a 40+-person engineering team across Singapore, and other SEA countries.This is a chance to take ownership of technology delivery across a multi-country healthcare platform, transform how care is delivered digitally, and shape the future of healthtech in the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and Scale Engineering: Manage and mentor a 40+-person distributed engineering organization, elevating standards and building a culture of excellence.
- Build an Offshore Hub: Establish and optimize a scalable engineering hub to complement Singapore core teams.
- Deliver Mission-Critical Products: Oversee development of B2C patient/member apps and internal B2B TPA platforms.
- Inject Modern Practices: Introduce AI-driven development, DevOps, and automation to boost quality and velocity.
- Hands-On Technical Leadership: Stay close to architecture and code reviews, guiding teams on technical decisions.
- Grow Talent: Attract, develop, and retain strong engineering talent; build succession depth.
- Align with the Business: Collaborate with product, operations, and clinical stakeholders to ensure engineering priorities deliver business impact.
Ideal Profile
- 10+ years in software engineering, including 5+ years leading sizable teams (30+ engineers).
- Experience building or running offshore engineering hubs in Asia.
- Proven track record with B2C and B2B apps (healthcare, insurance, fintech, or adjacent sectors a plus).
- Familiarity with AI/ML adoption, cloud-native architecture, and agile product engineering.
- Leadership style that is hands-on yet empowering; able to mentor and inspire teams.
- Passion for healthcare impact and building long-term capabilities in a non-startup, scale-up environment.
