The Store Planning Project Manager reports to the Store Planning Senior Project Manager and collaborates closely with various internal teams, including Retail, Wholesale, Merchandising, Visual Merchandising, Finance, Legal, and IT & Security, to ensure the successful development of all project aspects.
The Store Planning Project Manager is also responsible for the selection, onboarding, and ongoing management of external consultants, including architects, engineers, general contractors, and direct vendors. This encompasses managing all aspects of cost, scheduling, and quality throughout the entire project lifecycle, from planning and design to construction completion and project handover.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct due diligence to evaluate locations and estimate budgets and timelines.
- Supervise design development phases, including coordinating with designers to prepare layouts that align with planned retail sales. Organize internal reviews with all relevant corporate and local teams.
- Prepare and regularly update capital expenditure (CAPEX) reports and cost reports throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage bidding processes for consultants, general contractors, and millwork contractors, (including organizing bidding, awarding contracts, supervising activities, evaluating tender documents, and coordinating work assignments)
- Manage all direct vendor orders.
- Review consultant and contractor drawings to ensure consistency with project specifications and design concepts.
- Monitor project progress and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project charters, scope statements, and requirements documentation.
- Conduct site visits to construction sites and prepare detailed reports.
- Assist senior project managers in developing project plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Master’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction, or equivalent experience.
- 2-3 years of experience in store planning or construction, preferably within the luxury industry.
- Ability to effectively interface with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Project management skills, including coordination, communication, budget management, goal achievement, prioritization, and troubleshooting.
- Demonstrated analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
- Effective problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to challenges.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and thoroughness.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships and leverage networks.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and Photoshop.
