Python Developer – Trading / Account Systems / High-Scale Infrastructure – Amsterdam – Over 120K Possible

Our company is a leading trading organization. With offices in Amsterdam, other countries, and a team that has nearly doubled in the last year (now 110 strong). This team focus on systems that makes sure that all market activity is backed by precise, scalable infrastructure for account information, position bookkeeping, and trade monitoring. Close to the mid-office.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain the core bookkeeping system that aligns trading across all markets and exchanges.
- Take responsibility for position management and account-specific data critical to business operations.
- Monitor and manage equity, trades, and system performance across every exchange they operate on.
- Provide reliable, high-integrity business data to internal teams and ensure it aligns with trading logic.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with trading, mid-office, and infrastructure teams to ensure seamless operation and scaling.
What They’re Looking For
- Solid experience with Python and SQL is a must.
- Educational background in Computer Science (BSc with professional experience, or MSc with internship experience).
- Exposure to distributed systems and WebSockets is a plus.
- Familiarity with Postgres, Grafana, and handling terabytes of data in high-scale, high-uptime environments.
- Preference for candidates who’ve worked on large, business-critical systems, not just small-scale, non-continuous uptime projects.
- That said, candidates who’ve built systems from scratch in relevant smaller companies are also interesting.
Soft Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills: This role involves regular interaction with various stakeholders across teams.
- Ability to translate complex technical structures into meaningful insights for non-technical colleagues.
Nice to Have
- Experience in fintech, trading, or risk-related environments.
- Previous work with C++ or Rust is a bonus.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and reliability in data integrity work.
The Offer
- Base salary: €80K – €120K (including holiday allowance).
- Bonus on top of base.
- Hybrid work: 4 days in-office.
- Work in direct partnership with traders, helping shape how core systems support business operations and regulatory needs.
