I am collaborating with a very exciting, incredibly well backed, start up, Biotech company with offices in Amsterdam and Zurich, they have built a Clinical AI assistant for Oncology and are working with a huge amount of healthcare data.
I am looking for an experienced ML Data Engineer to design, build, and scale our data-sourcing, synthetic-generation, and curation pipelines. High-quality datasets are the foundation of frontier-scale language models, and you will play a critical role in creating them.
In this role, you will develop high-throughput pipelines that:
- Ingest and process multi-modal data at petabyte scale.
- Generate large volumes of synthetic training data.
- Filter, score, and classify content by topic, quality, and policy alignment.
You will work closely with ML researchers to directly influence the development of our next-generation foundation models.
About You
- Advanced programming expertise in Python and deep experience with distributed computing frameworks (Ray, Spark).
- Proven ability to design, operate, and scale large-scale data pipelines and run data-quality experiments.
- Experience with synthetic-data generation for LLM training pipelines.
- Strong knowledge of lakehouse architectures (Delta, Iceberg) and columnar formats (Parquet, ORC).
- Familiarity with core data-processing primitives (hashing, deduplication, chunking, etc.) and their scalability/performance trade-offs.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly present results and technical concepts.
Nice to Have
- Hands-on production experience orchestrating complex DAGs with Dagster (preferred) or similar workflow engines.
- Expertise in data-quality frameworks, validation, and observability/monitoring tooling.
- Strong understanding of ML fundamentals (architectures, training paradigms, evaluation metrics) to collaborate effectively with researchers and guide data-driven decisions.
Benefits
- Comprehensive salary
- Long term incentives
- 25+ days holiday
- Clear development pathway
