This is a remote role but you must be based in Poland. We are only hiring on an employment contract - not B2B.

We’re looking for a Backend Engineer (Golang) to join our Platform Services team - the group responsible for the systems that power billing, authentication, and internal synchronisation across Teamwork.com. This is the backbone of our platform: the things that just have to work, at scale, for thousands of users worldwide.

In this role you’ll:

  • Design, build, and evolve core backend services that are used across our entire product suite.
  • Work on systems integration projects, ensuring smooth and reliable communication between internal and external services.
  • Bring strong Golang expertise to the team, helping us deliver clean, performant, and maintainable code.
  • Leverage AI tools intelligently to work faster and more effectively—from generating tests and specs, to running initial PR reviews—while always owning and understanding the code you ship.
  • Collaborate in a cross-functional environment alongside engineers, designers, QA, and product managers.

Must Have

  • Solid professional experience with Golang
  • Strong understanding of APIs (REST essential, gRPC a plus)
  • Hands-on experience with MySQL/MariaDB
  • Working knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred)
  • Clear and collaborative communication skills

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Redis, or other caching and orchestration technologies
  • Exposure to microservices architecture at scale
  • Familiarity with agile delivery and remote-first ways of working
  • Test-driven mindset—you see tests as part of building, not an afterthought
  • Knowledge of monitoring and error-reporting tools (e.g. Sentry)
  • Experience working with Hubspot and Stripe
  • Contributions to open source projects, or examples of work you can share

AI Mindset:

We expect you to embrace AI in your day-to-day engineering. Whether it’s refining code, generating tests, summarising specs, or drafting an initial PR review, you’ll use AI to accelerate - but never replace - your own engineering judgement.

What you can expect

  • Employee Share Options (ESOP) — we mean what we say when we say, “act like an owner”!
  • Competitive salary & OTE (as applicable)
  • Up to 30 days vacation from day 1
  • Pension benefit (specific to region)
  • Health plans and wellbeing programs
  • Give Back program
  • Ministry of Happiness social club
  • Educational resources and generous allowance to support development
  • Inclusive policies - maternity, paternity & parent leave, as well as a focus on flexible working
  • Recognition programs
