DevSecOps Engineer (Part-Time Contract)

Unbreakable Republic is building a protest platform designed for resilience, security, and scale. Our team is looking for a DevSecOps Engineer who can help us launch and scale securely and responsibly.


This is a part-time remote contract with the opportunity to move into a full-time remote role. You will be able to complete the scope on evenings and weekends, outside of your full-time job. The work should be complete within 3 months max.


Location:

• Poland – remote, must be physically located in Poland for collaboration with other engineers.


Rate:

7,231.30 PLN (flat rate to complete contract)


You will:

  • Review PRs of backend implementation (NestJS).
  • Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
  • Estimate and monitor ongoing maintenance costs.
  • Proactively optimize the database to reduce server load.
  • Implement rate limits.
  • Proactively incorporate advanced cybersecurity best practices into all stages of the CI/CD pipeline, building security into our development processes.
  • Establish incident response protocols and tools.
  • Embed site reliability practices directly into the codebase and infrastructure setup.
  • Configure CDN, logging, and monitoring.
  • Harden infrastructure with mirrored backups, site redundancy, and failover systems to ensure uninterrupted operation.
  • Monitor the security landscape to keep abreast of threats and mitigations.
  • Conduct pre-launch performance testing and performance optimizations that support a 99.9% uptime guarantee.
  • Set up a user helpdesk, ticketing, and issue reporting workflow that informs patching and updates.
  • Document pipeline processes and configurations to ensure maintainability and knowledge transfer.


What we’re looking for:

  • Strong experience in automation, cloud infrastructure, and significantly enhancing CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong security mindset—you resolve risks before they develop into problems.
  • Ability to evaluate tradeoffs between providers, regions, and compliance considerations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead incident response under pressure.
  • Practical approach to balancing performance, security, and cost.
  • Someone who can work collaboratively, communicate clearly, and adapt quickly.
