DevOps Engineer - FinTech, Dubai
Our client, who are a rapidly growing FinTech startup based in Dubai, are seeking a talented DevOps Engineer to join their team. In this role, you’ll work closely with engineering teams to build reliable, observable, and secure systems with a strong focus on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced environment, ideal for someone eager to take ownership of DevOps initiatives from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with software engineers to design and implement scalable infrastructure and deployment pipelines.
- Ensure platform stability through proactive monitoring, incident response, and continuous improvement.
- Build and manage alerting and monitoring systems to detect and resolve issues quickly.
- Contribute to runbooks, system documentation, and operational processes.
- Support continuous integration and delivery workflows, including release automation.
Skills & Experience Required:
- 2+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering roles, ideally within a Startup or fast-paced product environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science (or similar) from a top recognized institution.
- Hands-on experience with GCP and cloud-native tooling.
- Solid understanding of Linux/Unix systems and core networking concepts.
- Proficient with observability tools (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus, Nagios).
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for container orchestration.
- Familiar with building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong analytical and communication skills, with a problem-solving mindset.
Nice to Have:
- Exposure to relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).
- Programming/scripting skills in Python, Go, or Java.
- Experience working in startup or high-growth environments.
