The HR Generalist supports the Los Angeles Chargers’ Human Resources team by managing a broad range of HR functions, with a strong focus on benefits administration, leave management, and recruiting operations. This is a front-facing, highly visible role that requires exceptional customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities

Benefits Administration

- Lead annual benefits renewals and open enrollment processes.

- Ensure the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS system and coordinate eligibility with vendors.

- Administer benefits onboarding for new hires and process life status changes.

- Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits claims, plan changes, and eligibility.

- Perform quality checks of benefits-related data and maintain accurate records.

- Provide reports for benefits billing and allocations.

- Support benefits-related projects and compliance initiatives.


Leave Administration

- Process and administer all leave-of-absence requests including FMLA, ADA, CFRA, PDL, and disability.

- Interpret and apply federal and state leave laws and company policies.

- Serve as the primary point of contact for employees and managers regarding leave procedures.

- Coordinate with payroll and benefits teams to ensure accurate leave tracking and pay adjustments.


Recruiting Operations

- Support recruiting operations including job postings, candidate screening, interview scheduling, and ATS management.

- Ensure a seamless and professional candidate experience throughout the hiring process.

- Collaborate with hiring managers to coordinate interview logistics and onboarding activities.

- Maintain accurate recruitment data and assist with reporting and compliance tracking.


General HR Support

- Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.

- Support employee relations, performance management, and compliance initiatives.

- Maintain HRIS data integrity and generate reports as needed.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support HR projects and initiatives.


Required Skills & Abilities

- Extensive knowledge of employee benefits, leave laws, and HR compliance.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS/ATS platforms.

- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse teams.

- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

- Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions in a timely manner.

- Exceptional customer service and professionalism in a highly visible role.


Education & Experience

- Bachelor's degree in HR or related field

- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in HR, with a focus on benefits administration, leave management, and recruiting operations.

- Experience with Dayforce is a plus!
