Job Opportunity: Python Developer – Data Engineering & Automation – Freelance – Antwerp – Hybrid
G2 is currently partnering with a client on an exciting freelance opportunity for an experienced Python Developer to support the development of advanced data engineering and automation systems. This role is focused on designing robust, scalable back-end infrastructure for data-intensive applications, with a strong emphasis on clean, maintainable Python code and integration with modern DevOps tools.
You’ll work alongside a cross-functional team of engineers and data scientists, helping to build tools and platforms that power data workflows, APIs, and automation pipelines across a variety of products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain Python-based applications for data processing, automation, and service orchestration
- Build scalable ETL pipelines and RESTful APIs for real-time and batch data systems
- Collaborate on infrastructure and deployment using Docker, Git, and CI/CD tools
- Optimise application performance, reliability, and security in production environments
- Work closely with stakeholders to translate technical requirements into clean, efficient Python solutions
- Contribute to the ongoing evolution of software architecture and codebase best practices
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 2+ years of professional Python development experience
- Strong background in back-end development, automation, or scripting
- Proficient with Python libraries such as FastAPI, Pandas, SQLAlchemy, Celery, etc.
- Familiarity with DevOps workflows
- Available to travel or re-locate to Antwerp
Notable Points:
- Contract length: 12 months
- Location: Antwerp – Hybrid work model
- Rate: €80–90 p/h (freelance)
- No students accepted for this role, must have 2+ years professional experience
