โœจ Context

Our client, a key European institution based in Strasbourg, is looking for an experienced Business Intelligence Specialist to join their on-site team.

This role is central to leveraging advanced analytics, big data, and BI solutions to generate actionable insights and support data-driven decision-making. You will design, implement, and optimise analytical models, visualisations, and reporting processes, while ensuring compliance with ethical, legal, and security standards.

๐ŸŽ“ Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Education: Masterโ€™s degree (or equivalent, minimum 4 years after secondary school).
  • Experience: At least 3 years in data science, BI, or advanced analytics.
  • Strong knowledge of mathematical/statistical models.
  • Proficiency with BI & visualisation tools (Power BI, Cognos).
  • Experience leveraging data for strategic decision-making.
  • Familiarity with big data ecosystems and advanced analytics.
  • Strong skills in KPI design, business interpretation, and alignment with organisational goals.
  • Excellent communication & presentation skills.

  • Data Analysis & Integration
  • Collect, clean, integrate, and analyse internal and external data sources.
  • Explore datasets to uncover correlations, relationships, and hidden patterns.
  • Manage and merge multiple structured/unstructured datasets ensuring consistency and reliability.
  • Advanced Analytics & Modelling
  • Formulate and test hypotheses based on business challenges.
  • Identify and apply mathematical models and algorithms to optimise decision-making.
  • Use data science tools/libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, ELKI) to fine-tune models.
  • Lead analytics adoption across the organisation.
  • Visualisation & Insights
  • Design appropriate data visualisations tailored to business questions.
  • Deliver insights using tools like Power BI and Cognos.
  • Translate complex patterns into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Big Data & AI
  • Provide expertise in big data infrastructure and software optimisation.
  • Identify quick-win, high-value analytics solutions.
  • Explore and apply AI tools for predictive analytics and data processing.
  • Contribute to the development of advanced reporting and analytics requirements.
  • Governance, Security & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with data protection, legal, and ethical guidelines.
  • Implement security and risk management strategies.
  • Align analytics initiatives with business priorities and stakeholder needs.
  • Reporting & Business Support
  • Increase the business value of BI and reporting activities.
  • Guide stakeholders in interpreting analytics outputs and defining KPIs.
