Purpose

The goal of the Data Scientist is to improve accuracy and efficiency of data analysis through the research and implementation of data-driven algorithms and methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Researches and implements algorithms for improving data analysis accuracy and/or efficiency
  • Tests and performs statistical analysis to evaluate developed solutions
  • Ensures quality of the developed algorithms by software testing and/or code reviews
  • Writes documentation of developed solutions and ensures knowledge transfer
  • Keeps up to date with development practices in the industry
  • Supports daily business with short-notice feasibility studies or data fixes
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualification And Work Experience

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Natural Sciences or Mathematics is required
  • A master's degree in computer science, Engineering, Natural Sciences or Mathematics is preferred
  • A PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Natural Sciences or Mathematics is preferred
  • 2 years of work experience in similar roles
  • Experience working contributing to research and/or data science projects
  • Advanced knowledge on statistical analysis and high abstraction and synthesis level
  • Experience in scientific programming and data analysis
  • Knowledge in Data Science and Machine Learning (feature engineering, supervisors and unsupervised learning)
  • Experience communicating with experts and non-experts on scientific problems and results
  • Advanced programming skills in python
