Senior DevOps Engineer

I have a brand new contract role for a senior devops engineer with one of my financial services clients based in Galway. This would be a 12 month initial day rate contract paying a competitive rate. Here's the profile I'm after:

Key Skills and Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with AWS in a production setting.
• Proven track record of building and deploying Docker images.
• Expertise in migrating applications from other container orchestration solutions (e.g., ECS) to Kubernetes, preferably on AWS EKS.
• Demonstrated proficiency in running Kubernetes workloads, ideally on AWS EKS, and managing Kubernetes clusters.
• Familiarity with Confluent or Apache Kafka.
• Experience developing and deploying Helm charts and libraries.
• Hands-on knowledge of Jenkins Core, including crafting and maintaining declarative CI/CD pipelines and libraries.
• Experience with monitoring tools such as CloudWatch, Datadog, and Splunk Cloud.
• Strong knowledge of UNIX operating systems and shell scripting.
• Solid experience managing services and applications in a large AWS cross-account environment, utilizing IAM and federated SSO.
• Ability to design and maintain robust logging, monitoring, and alerting frameworks using tools like Datadog and Splunk.
