About The Role
We are looking for a passionate and curious Junior Data Scientist with 1-2 years of experience to join our growing team focused on unlocking insights from sensory data to drive innovation in the food & beverage industry.
As part of our data science team, you will work on developing and improving models (descriptive, statistical and AI or Machine Learning ones), conducting analyses, and building visualizations always with a clear focus on value generation. Your work will guide our clients in the new products development, will support their portfolio optimization or will assess the product potential across different markets
All within the exciting field of Sensorial sciences, where data meets taste, and technology meets human experience.
The tools & technologies that you will use are:
- Python, and its full suite of libraries for data processing, scientific methods, and Machine Learning / Deep Learning.
- SQL for data extraction and transformation;
- Event tracking tools and dashboard creation platforms.
Who You Are
You are a junior Data Scientist with 1-2 years of experience with a Laurea Magistrale in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Mathematical Engineering, Statistics, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Physics, or Engineering.
Ideal candidates will bring:
- A strong curiosity and desire to learn, grow, and make an impact.
- Interest in taste, sensory experience, gastronomy, or the food & beverage sector.
- A good command of English, both written and spoken
- Solid foundations in statistics (e.g., hypothesis testing, confidence intervals) and mathematics (e.g., algebra, calculus)
- Ability to translate complex business problems into analytical solutions using statistical and machine learning methods.
- Hands-on experience with Python for data manipulation and analysis as well as SQL.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Plotly, etc.)
- Fluent in English at a professional level and Italian as plus
