About The Role
As an in-house legal counsel, you will be our go-to advisor for all legal matters with a primary focus on corporate law, governance and commercial contracting. As our first legal hire, you will be covering a wide range of generic legal topics - from drafting contracts to advising on compliance and risk management. You will partner with the CEO, COO, Head of Financial Operations and leadership team, while setting up scalable legal frameworks to support our business operations & growth.
IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL
- Fully own legal function, build foundation for series c and beyond;
- Assist with company secretarial tasks & setup of internal processes;
- Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of contracts;
- Act as a trusted advisor to Finance, HR, Product, Supply/Sales, and Marketing teams;
- Provide practical insights and solutions balancing legal risk and commercial objectives;
- Advise on applicable laws and regulatory frameworks impacting marketplace operations;
- Ensure compliance with data protection, consumer law, competition and marketplace regulations;
- Manage potential disputes, liaising with external counsel when needed.
- Law degree;
- 5+ years of work experience, ideally a mix of law firm and in-house;
- Ability to work independently and proactively;
- Critical thinking and willingness to solve problems;
- Good negotiation skills;
- Expertise in cross-border commercial & corporate matters;
- Skills in risk & compliance frameworks building from scratch;
- Exposure to compliance for digital/marketplace businesses is a strong advantage;
- Ability to operate in a fast changing environment;
- Fluency in English both verbally and in writing.
The offered salary range for this position is 5000 - 6000 € (gross) per month. Please keep in mind that we are also open to discuss your salary expectations based on your competencies and experience.
