CBSButler are currently supporting a fortune 500 powerhouse on a major digitalisation programme, looking to transform the way global supply chains and manufacturing processes are managed.

This is a greenfield initiative to reinvent and streamline critical operations by applying cutting edge AI and advanced software engineering across their global footprint. They are seeking a Senior Python Software Engineer to take a pivotal role in building the core platform that will support, facilitate, and deploy the AI models developed by their international R&D teams.

This will be hybrid working, requiring 3 days a week on site in Luxembourg and we can pay well for experienced candidates with good benefits too.

What you’ll be doing:

• Designing and developing scalable, production grade backend systems in Python
• Creating the software backbone for AI deployment pipelines
• Optimising for performance, reliability, and scalability across massive datasets and distributed systems
• Owning architecture decisions and recommending the best frameworks and best practices
• Working closely with AI/ML and Data Engineering teams to bridge the gap between research and production

What we're looking for:

• Strong experience in Python Software Engineering, ideally up to senior level
• Deep expertise in backend Python frameworks (FastAPI, Flask, Django, etc)
• Ideally you will have an experience working in complex distributed systems, concurrency, and performance optimisation
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD and cloud first development into platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP (They use AWS and Azure but will consider other cloud backgrounds)
• Excellent grasp of SQL databases and database optimisation
• Ability to thrive in greenfield projects with ownership of architecture and direction
