Vice President of Information Technology (VP of IT)
Job Summary
The VP of IT is the central leader of the company's information technology strategy and execution, reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) or Chief Operating Officer (COO). This position is responsible for developing and driving the company's overall IT strategy, ensuring a secure, scalable, and stable technology infrastructure to support the company's business growth and innovation objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning and Leadership
Develop and execute the company's information technology strategy, aligning it with the business strategy.
Lead the IT department, build a high-performing technology team, and promote a technology culture and innovation.
Develop the annual IT budget and technology investment plan to ensure resource allocation and cost optimization.
Technical Architecture and Systems Management
Oversee the company's IT architecture, including network, server, cloud platform, enterprise application, and database management.
Ensure all systems are stable, highly available, and meet business continuity requirements.
Drive system modernization and digital transformation, such as cloud migration, automation, and data governance.
Information Security and Compliance
Develop and oversee the company's cybersecurity strategy to prevent data breaches and system attacks.
Ensure the company's compliance with relevant industry regulations (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001, SOC 2, and cryptoasset compliance requirements).
Collaborate with the CISO or security team to conduct regular risk assessments and emergency response drills.
Cross-departmental collaboration
Work closely with business, operations, finance, marketing, compliance, and other departments to ensure the successful implementation of IT projects.
Provide technical consulting to support new product development, customer experience optimization, and global expansion.
Innovation and New Technologies
Track emerging technology trends such as AI, blockchain, cloud-native architecture, and Web3 infrastructure.
Evaluate and implement new technologies suitable for the company to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance competitiveness.
Team Management and Talent Development
Recruit, train, and retain top IT talent, fostering a collaborative, agile, and efficient technical team culture.
Set team KPIs and continuously optimize performance.
Requirements
Education:
Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field; MBA preferred.
Work Experience:
10+ years of IT management experience, including at least 3-5 years in an IT Director/Senior IT Leadership role.
Proven track record of building and managing large-scale IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and enterprise systems.
Background in cryptocurrency, fintech, blockchain, or high-growth technology companies is preferred.
Required Skills:
Proficient in IT strategic planning, system architecture, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and DevOps.
Excellent leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and change management skills.
Excellent communication skills, able to clearly articulate the value of technology to non-technical executives.
Strong crisis management and emergency decision-making skills.
