Term: September - December 2025

Compensation: $1500 per month (20 hours/week)

Ready to ship code that matters, right now?

At Travel Care Plans, we're building a groundbreaking AI platform to make travel safer for everyone. We're on the verge of a major milestone: our MVP launch in November. Our core platform is built, but we're in a critical phase of feature completion and refinement before we demo it to major strategic partners.

This is a unique part-time contract opportunity. We need a sharp, hands-on developer to jump directly into our codebase. If you're excited by the challenge of navigating a live codebase and seeing your work deployed immediately, we want to talk to you.

What You'll Do:

  • End-to-End Feature Development: Design, develop, and deploy key application features from start to finish, including building secure web services and implementing robust authentication/authorization systems.
  • ML Model Integration: Interface directly with our core AI/ML models on AWS Bedrock, building the necessary components to parse and translate model outputs into a structured, user-facing experience.
  • Backend & Cloud Architecture: Architect and refine our serverless backend on AWS, optimizing data flows between the user interface and our AI services using technologies like Lambda and API Gateway.
  • AI Performance Optimization: Systematically test and refine LLM prompts and configurations to enhance the accuracy, relevance, and overall utility of the AI-generated care plans.
  • Full-Stack Troubleshooting & Deployment: Take responsibility for debugging complex issues across the entire stack and manage the deployment pipeline on AWS to ensure a stable and reliable application for key partner demonstrations.
  • Strategic Collaboration & Documentation: Collaborate directly with the founding engineers on product strategy and architecture, while maintaining high-quality technical documentation to support team scalability and success.

Our Technology Stack:

  • Frontend: React, Tailwind CSS, Vite
  • Backend: Python
  • Cloud Infrastructure: AWS (Lambda, API Gateway, Cognito, S3, Bedrock)
  • Version Control: Git / GitHub

What We're Looking For:

  • Eligibility: Applicants must be Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents.
  • Demonstrated experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds—including current students, graduates, and self-taught developers—who can showcase their skills through a portfolio, degree, or personal projects.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of React and Python.
  • A genuine curiosity for cloud technologies; familiarity with the AWS ecosystem is a massive plus.
  • The ability to learn quickly and comfortably navigate an existing codebase.
  • A proactive problem-solver who isn't afraid to ask questions and dig deep to find solutions.

Why Join Us?

  • Unparalleled AWS Experience: You will work daily with a modern, serverless AWS stack and cutting-edge AI services like Bedrock.
  • Critical Impact: Your contributions will be directly visible in our MVP and will be a crucial factor in our success during pivotal partner meetings.
  • Direct Mentorship: You'll work side-by-side with the founding team, receiving direct mentorship from the CTO on architecture, product, and strategy.

If you're ready for a contract role that will challenge you and give you incredible, real-world experience, this is it.

To Apply: Send your resume and a link to your GitHub profile to [email protected] with the subject line "Part-Time Developer Application - MVP Contract". In your email, tell us about a time you had to jump into an existing project and make a contribution.
