You're a highly experienced developer who loves the challenge of building robust, scalable, and efficient systems. While you're comfortable across the full stack, you have a deep expertise in PHP, with a strong preference for the Laravel framework. You excel at server-side architecture, managing complex AWS infrastructure, and, most importantly, integrating with headless CMS platforms. Your expertise in Craft CMS is a key part of your skill set, and you have a solid understanding of how to build seamless APIs for modern front-ends like Next.js. * This role is a contractor - temp to perm.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to front-end development when needed, specifically with modern JavaScript frameworks like Next.js.
- Architect, develop, and maintain complex web applications with a strong emphasis on PHP back-end architecture and APIs.
- Integrate and work extensively with headless CMS platforms, with a focus on Craft CMS.
- Build and manage our AWS infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain efficient APIs for front-end consumption using GraphQL, particularly for applications built with Next.js.
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines and other DevOps practices.
- Optimize back-end performance and ensure data security.
- Collaborate with front-end developers to ensure seamless integration and functionality.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues across the full stack, with a tilt towards the back-end.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of professional full-stack development experience
- Strong understanding of modern front-end frameworks, especially Next.js.
- Deep expertise in PHP, with a preference for Laravel.
- Significant, hands-on experience with Craft CMS.
- Deep understanding of AWS services (e.g., EC2, Cloudfront, RDS, Lambda).
- GraphQL experience is a must.
- Proficiency in React, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and headless CMS’s
- Experience with server setup and configuration.Familiarity with DevOps principles and tools.
- Proficiency in version control systems (Git).
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent proactive communication and collaboration abilities.
- Experience with data migration and testing frameworks.
Bonus Points:
- Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
- A security-first mindset in development practices.

Salary and Benefits:
- $70,000 - 90,000 USD (currently this is 98000 - 125000 CAD) is the salary range for this position. This represents only a portion of the overall package.
