In HR Operations, we are focused on providing an excellent staff experience and HR service within MathWorks. We are looking for an HR Operations Specialist to join our collaborative & friendly global team.
Based in Munich, you will support our Central European region, focusing on a broad range of HR topics. This role offers a great opportunity to build on existing HR knowledge and make a meaningful impact. You will closely work with the local HR Business Partner and Corporate Recruiter to provide comprehensive HR services to staff in Germany, Netherlands and Switzerland.

Responsibilities
You will be responsible for key HR processes and services, including~
- Guiding new joiners through their onboarding process (contracts, offer letters, HR induction, HRIS administration)
- Delivering HR documents (certificate of employment, reference letters, contracts and work addendums, transfer letters)
- Organizing and supporting the Works Council meeting preparation (reports, documentation)
- Ownership for absence and vacation management
- Contributing to local, EMEA and Global projects and initiatives
- Supporting benefits, front line policy, and general HR questions from staff and managers
- Maintenance of employee data and staff records
- Preparing and analyzing HR reports
- Supporting local HR processes
- A bachelor's degree is required.
- Minimum of 2 years’ HR Operations and/or HR Generalist work experience (or equivalent)
- Fluent in German with excellent English Language skills (verbal and written)
- Initial professional experience in HR with a willingness to grow into new challenges
- Interest in process improvement and automation
- Highly organized with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Discretion with handling highly confidential information
- Excellent communication skills and adaptability to different contexts
- Ability to prioritize staff experience, with a customer service mindset
- Proficient with MS Office
- Knowledge of German employment practices and regulations
- Experience with Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) and reporting tools. Specific experience with Workday is a plus
