As an Intern Firmware Engineer, you will be part of a talented group dedicated to crafting embedded software for cutting-edge NetApp storage solutions. Dive into the realm of high-capacity, high-performance SAS and NVMe-based storage I/O modules and disk shelves.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with team members to design and implement software solutions in C
- Engage in the entire product lifecycle, from design and development to testing and debugging
- Create efficient and reliable software for new storage products and enhancements
- Assist in addressing customer escalations
- Engage in technical discussions within the team and cross-functional units
- Working efficiency in C, C++
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Strong team player mindset
- Familiarity with computer architecture, data structures, and standard programming practices
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills
- Exposure to Windows and Linux platforms
- Eagerness to learn real-time operating systems, embedded software development tools, and storage protocols like Ethernet, SAS, NVMe, SCSI, and SATA
- You must be a current student pursuing a bachelor's degree
- This internship opportunity is perfect for 3rd-year students seeking a 6-8 month internship as part of their degree program
- Happy to come into the Cork office a minimum of twice a week as part of our hybrid work culture
