Lead Systems Engineer
Edge Autonomy Riga is an international company with its main office in the USA, and we are part of the Redwire group. We specialize in the development, manufacturing, and integration of autonomous unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and electro-optical surveillance systems. Our products are widely used in defense, security, civil, and industrial sectors around the world. We’re looking for a Lead Systems Engineer at R&D UAV Department to drive the design and integration of advanced systems for unmanned aircraft. This role combines technical leadership with hands-on engineering across hardware, software, and mechanics.
Main responsibilities:
- Design and improve system architectures to meet technical requirements.
- Integrate hardware, software, and subsystems into complete working systems.
- Plan and lead system testing, verification, and validation activities.
- Participate in requirement and design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR) and manage system risks (FMEA).
- Develop test plans, procedures, and technical documentation.
- Monitor systems during missions and ensure consistent performance.
- Manage documentation and configuration control of all system components.
- Lead and mentor junior engineers in your team.
Requirements:
- Degree in engineering (preferably electrical, or related field).
- Knowledge in mechanics, electronics, and software.
- Experience with system modeling, simulation, or scientific computing.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Experience in a leading position.
- Fluent in Latvian and English.
- Bonus: Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
