Our client is a global leader in access solutions and smart home technologies. With over a decade of innovation in the IoT space, the company is a pioneer in connected home solutions, including garage door openers, gate systems, and smart access management tools. One of their flagship innovations is the platform, which allows users to control and monitor their home access systems through connected devices. The current focus is a mobile app designed to support and manage gated communities.

Project Description

You will work on the development of a native Android mobile application that supports residents and administrators of gated communities with access control, device management, and real-time notifications. The Android Developer will collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers from our client’s U.S. and Eastern European offices.

What You'll Do

• Develop and maintain Android mobile applications using Kotlin and Java;
• Implement MVVM architecture and asynchronous programming using Kotlin Coroutines;
• Integrate Firebase services (Crashlytics, Remote Config, Analytics, DataStore);
• Build and maintain Unit Tests and support Agile development cycles;
• Participate in daily meetings with stakeholders;
• Ensure clean, maintainable, and well-documented code;
• Perform thorough debugging using tools like Postman and Charles Proxy;
• Collaborate with designers using tools such as Figma or Zeplin;
• Be open to rotating to other project teams and learning new domains;

Job Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in Android mobile application development;
• Strong hands-on experience with Kotlin, especially Kotlin Coroutines;
• Solid understanding and recent use of MVVM architecture;
• Proven experience writing Unit Tests;
• Experience working with RESTful APIs and tools like Retrofit;
• Proficient with Git for source control;
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies;
• Familiarity with Firebase services (Crashlytics, Analytics, Remote Config) is a plus;
• Basic understanding of UX/UI tools such as Figma or Zeplin is a plus;
• Experience using Postman, Charles, or similar debugging tools is a plus;
• Understanding of smart home ecosystems (e.g., Alexa, Google Home, Apple Home) is a plus;
• English level: from B1+;
