Context
Our Agile Transformation Programme is focused on building One Team—uniting leadership and teams through shared values, synchronised practices, and a strong focus on learning and adaptation. The programme prioritises outcomes over processes, empowers people at all levels, and promotes psychological safety and transparency to help leaders and teams thrive in complex environments.
Role Description
As an Agile Coach within this strategic programme, you will partner with fellow trainers and coaches to embed foundational elements into day-to-day team practices. You will support baseline training by helping teams put it into action. Working in focused engagements of up to twelve weeks, you will transition between teams, ensuring the foundations are applied, assessing needs, creating measurable coaching plans, and guiding teams to sustain improvements. Your role will also involve co-delivering training sessions and ensuring concepts are reinforced and translated into lasting outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Embed baseline agile training into practice, translating values, principles, and practices into meaningful team behaviours.
- Partner with teams to define current and target conditions, establish measures of success, and track progress.
- Evidence coaching impact by capturing interventions and demonstrating improvements against agreed metrics.
- Deliver coaching in 12-week cycles, engaging with multiple teams simultaneously.
- Advance capabilities beyond the baseline by identifying further development opportunities and addressing specific needs.
- Collaborate with trainers and internal coaches to ensure continuity between training and in-team coaching.
- Contribute actively to the coaching community, sharing insights and aligning approaches across the programme.
- Frequent interaction with team leadership groups (e.g., Product Managers, Engineering Managers, Senior Leaders).
- Close collaboration with the Change Lead and other internal Agile Coaches.
- Occasional interaction with external experts and HR/People teams.
- 3–5 years of agile coaching experience (or equivalent background in Product, Engineering, or Delivery).
- Proven ability to create and execute coaching plans, run root cause analysis, and drive sustainable change.
- Experience leading training sessions for various group sizes using adaptive techniques.
- Skilled in delivering engaging training, ideally with a “Training from the Back of the Room” approach.
- Proficiency in scaled facilitation techniques such as Liberating Structures.
- Strong understanding of agile values, principles, frameworks, and methodologies.
- Excellent facilitation, training, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Background in Product or Engineering is highly advantageous.
