About this Role

We are seeking a DevOps Associate (DBA) to join our Core Infrastructure Operations team in Bucharest. This role is pivotal in supporting and maintaining database systems, ensuring their performance and reliability. The individual will contribute to software development, automation of recurring tasks, and proactive maintenance activities. They will also be involved in incident resolution, performance investigations, and implementation of high-quality projects aligned with service level agreements.


What you will do

  • Develop software, scripts, and programs to enhance IT solution functionality and automate tasks using CI/CD and Agile methodologies.
  • Provide Level 2 support for databases and assist Level 1 teams with incident resolution, including shift work and stand-by duties.
  • Support transformation and technology refresh programmes aimed at improving service availability and performance.
  • Conduct technical investigations into performance issues and propose effective solutions.
  • Participate in project implementation, ensuring high standards of quality and efficiency.


Who you are

  • Operationally skilled in debugging and troubleshooting database issues.
  • Capable of working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines, with knowledge of Agile practices.
  • Strong communicator with good documentation skills.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in database support.
  • Proficient in English (spoken and written); additional languages are a plus.
  • Knowledgeable in database administration for technologies such as Microsoft SQL Server, Sybase ASE, MySQL, MongoDB, and Apache Cassandra.
  • Familiar with PL/SQL, UNIX/Linux shell scripting, Python, and Microsoft Azure.
  • Understanding of general security principles and SOX compliance.
