Job Type: Contract
Compensation Range: $40 - 43 per hour
We're looking for a Junior UX Designer to join our entertainment design team. In this role, you'll help build intuitive and cohesive experiences by creating wireframes, flows, and prototypes, as well as assisting with user research. You'll work with our established design system to ensure consistency across all our products.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with senior designers to create wireframes, prototypes, and user flows.
- Assist with user research, including preparing materials, observing sessions, and helping to synthesize findings.
- Work within our existing design system to maintain consistency.
- Prepare design specifications and assets for handoff to engineers.
- Participate in design critiques and incorporate feedback.
- Document design decisions and keep shared files up to date.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and researchers.
- 1-2 years of professional experience in UX/UI design (this can include internships, school projects, or freelance work).
- A portfolio that demonstrates your design process and outcomes.
- A bachelor's degree in design, HCI, psychology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Familiarity with design tools like Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD.
- A basic understanding of UX principles, including usability, accessibility, and interaction design.
- Experience with wireframing and creating low-fidelity prototypes.
- An understanding of visual design fundamentals like layout, typography, and color.
- Familiarity with responsive design for web and/or mobile.
- Collaborative and comfortable working with different teams.
- Curious and eager to learn, with an openness to feedback.
- Detail-oriented and willing to iterate on your work.
- A strong communicator who can clearly explain your design decisions.
- Empathetic and interested in understanding user needs.
- Experience in an agile or cross-functional team environment.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG), usability testing, or analytics tools.
